BEFORE DECIDING UPON THE INVITATION TO REVIEW PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION.

Articles will be assessed according to the reviewer’s response to the following questions:

  • Does the submission fall within the aims and scope of the Journal?
  • Does it contribute to understanding couple and/or family relationships, and/or to the development of psychoanalytically informed practice in this field?
  • Does the abstract clearly and accurately describe the content of the article?
  • Does it show a critical awareness of relevant literature (theory, practice or research) relevant to its central argument?
  • Is there an appropriate use of case material?
  • Does the contributor indicate that they have appropriately anonymised the case material, so that the submission contains no information that will allow a third party to identify the patient and minimise the risk that the patient will recognize her/him/themselves?
  • Are its conclusions supported by the evidence supplied?
  • Does it display an appropriate awareness of and sensitivity to diversity in its various manifestations?
  • Is it well-structured, interesting and easy to read?
  • Is the language acceptable?
  • Has the article stayed within the word limit and followed house style?
